Lillie Cordes, of Ocala, Florida, was born in 1964 and passed away on September 1, 2026, at the age of 62. She was the youngest child of Merrick and Sadie Simmons. As a widow, Lillie will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Russell Cordes, at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.

She is survived by her children, Ashley and Chelsea Johnson, and her step-daughter, Brittany Jagers Cordes.

After serving in the United States Army, Lillie enjoyed a rewarding career caring for veterans at the James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital. Throughout her life, she was known for her compassion, kindness, humor, faith, forgiveness, and love. She found joy in simple things, including a good piece of cheesecake and a scary movie.

Lillie leaves behind a lasting legacy of service and love. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by those who knew her.
